A UGC campaign that merged the trust of influencer marketing with the control and scalability of AI, built around a persona who feels like someone you already know.
The Concept
When Celesti Tea wanted to move beyond glossy product shots, I saw an opening. What if their story was told through a voice that felt human, intimate, and rooted in ritual? Enter Rowan Thorne, an AI lifestyle persona I created as part of my UGC portfolio.
With Rowan, we built a campaign that merged the trust of influencer marketing with the control and scalability of AI, showing how AI-generated personalities can embody brand rituals in a way that feels authentic, relatable, and scroll-stopping.

The Process
For UGC to work, it has to feel personal, like someone you already know. ChatGPT and prompt engineering generated the immutable persona anchors, the lifestyle scenarios, and the testimonial scripts, first-person and reflectively warm. Rowan was styled as a grounded Sierra Nevada creative, in cozy mornings and natural textures, shot with intentional camera shake and everyday realism.
I began by writing Rowan's testimonial narrative in ChatGPT, her daily ritual with Celesti Tea, in a conversational voice that avoided ad-speak. Imperfection was key: natural shadows, slightly off-center shots, and tactile details that made her look lived-in. A Suno-generated zen music bed flowed with her pacing, and Soundify layered subtle nature sound, soft wind, distant birdsong, ambient texture.

Making Her Talk
AI visuals alone weren't enough. Rowan needed a voice. I scripted testimonial lines that sounded personal and unscripted, then paired them with voiceover tools and Suno soundbeds, every line calibrated for cadence, warmth, and relatability. Instead of a faceless ad, viewers got Rowan sharing her morning ritual and why it felt grounding. Believable, approachable, and endlessly reusable.

Bottlenecks and Breakthroughs
The hardest part was fighting AI's natural tendency toward perfection. Most models generate images that are too polished, symmetrical faces, flawless lighting, product shots that scream ad, and early drafts of Rowan looked staged. The breakthrough came from engineering imperfection directly into the prompts and framing: handheld motion, slight lens distortion, natural light falloff. Rowan suddenly looked like a friend sharing her routine, not an AI render. The system stayed repeatable: persona anchors fixed, environments and scripts free to evolve.

Why It Works
Rowan wasn't about tricking people into thinking she was real. It was about showing how AI-driven storytelling can capture the trust of UGC while keeping the control brands need. With the right framework, persona, script, visuals, polish, an AI character delivers human-style content that feels genuine, scalable, and endlessly adaptable. Brands don't have to choose between authenticity and efficiency. They can have both.

How Rowan runs
Rowan Thorne sells a product, which changes the whole pipeline. The unit is not a hook, it is an occasion: a moment where the tea makes sense. The gate is authenticity, because UGC that reads as an ad stops working the second it does. Conversion closes the loop, not views. Which occasion actually moved people to buy gets written back into the ritual bank before the next batch is scripted.
Conversion rewrites the ritual bank. The occasion beats the hook.
